The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rains for the city in the coming days. This is great news for Mumbai, as the rains will help cool things down and fill up the city’s water reservoirs.
Over the past 24 hours, different parts of Mumbai have received varying amounts of rainfall. The Colaba area, which represents south Mumbai, recorded 77.4 mm of rain, while the Santa Cruz area, representing the suburbs, saw 59.6 mm heavy rains have caused some areas to become waterlogged, affecting train and road traffic.
The IMD has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rains over the next few days, so it’s essential to stay safe. The city’s schools have been closed as a precaution, and residents are advised to stay indoors when possible.
